The ‘Coliseum’

The ‘Coliseum’ is an innovative and exciting new tool we will use as we aim to progress our work for the youth in the local and wider community.

A multi purpose, fully portable sports arena, the ‘Coliseum’ creates additional opportunities for engaging young people, thus enabling the process of building relationships with many young people previously regarded as hard to reach.

Consisting of 2 metre high mesh panels, the ‘Coliseum’ can be easily and quickly constructed on a number of surfaces, both indoor and outdoor. Once built it provides an ideal arena for engaging in many sports, from football to hockey. For the young people this means new skills are learned and fitness is improved.

The ‘Coliseum’ will be a major feature of our work both in the west of Carlisle and in the other areas we visit on a regular basis, and it is our intention to use the ‘Coliseum’ in rural areas and at schools as well as with the hard to reach.
